Terrence Williams ?Highly Unlikely? To Play For Celtics Against Nuggets
WBZ-TV - Breaking News, Weather and Sports for Boston, Worcester and New Hampshire found this 3 months ago on boston.cbslocal.com

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Celtics could use all the bodies they can get at this point, but a single letter is holding them back from getting their newest player on the court.

According to the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn, Terrence Williams is with the team in Denver on Tuesday, but it’s “highly unlikely” he plays against the Nuggets. Williams and the Celtics are still waiting for a letter of clearance from the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

The Celtics signed Williams to a 10-day contract on Monday according to several reports. The 6-6 Williams gives them more depth at guard, and in general, as the C’s have just nine healthy players on their roster.

While it’s unlikely Williams plays Tuesday night, it’s unclear if Doc Rivers would even use him. Without the letter of clearance, Williams was not able to work with the team Tuesday morning.

The 25-year-old Williams was drafted 11th overall in 2009 by the New Jersey Nets, but has struggled in each of his five stops in the NBA.

Williams has played in 129 NBA games, averaging 7.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20.2 minutes per game.
