Some Sidewalks In Boston Neighborhoods Remain Covered By Snow And Ice
WBZ-TV - Breaking News, Weather and Sports for Boston, Worcester and New Hampshire found this 3 months ago on boston.cbslocal.com

BOSTON (CBS) – The clean-up from the blizzard of 2013 is far from over. While most streets have been at least partially cleared, and getting around on city streets is becoming easier, walking in many Boston neighborhoods still poses a danger.

Many main sidewalks have been cleared, but others are still covered in snow and ice.

“They’re okay right now, I guess. But they were horrible when the snow storm came,” one resident said about the sidewalks.

In Boston, residents and business owners are responsible for shoveling out sidewalks.

Among those who haven’t, some say they can’t, and others say they won’t. Residents who don’t clear the snow off sidewalks face at least a $50 fine.

Still, the overall sentiment seems to suggest a certain forgiving tone, considering the amount of snow that fell.

“They’re better than they were the first couple of days, but it’s still tough dodging in and out of traffic,” another resident said.
