Arcade Shooting Game Removed From Movie Theater Lobby
WBZ-TV - Breaking News, Weather and Sports for Boston, Worcester and New Hampshire found this 3 months ago on boston.cbslocal.com

BOSTON (AP) ? A national movie theater chain has removed a video shooting game from the lobby of one of its theaters after a moviegoer complained in the wake of the school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

National Amusements, based in Norwood, Mass., removed the game from a Showcase cinema complex in Yonkers, N.Y. A company executive said Friday the chain plans to review its theaters to decide if additional games should be removed.

Massachusetts transportation officials pulled nine arcade games from four rest areas after a complaint from a family who saw a teenager firing a lifelike toy machine gun on an arcade game in a rest stop 10 days after the Newtown shooting.

Tracey Hyams said she knows violent video games are not the singular cause of mass shootings, but said they have no place in state-owned highway rest stops.
