WAKEFIELD (CBS) – A Wakefield man indicted last week on 100 counts of charges related to child rape, sexual abuse and child porn was ordered to be held for 90 days without bail at a court hearing on Wednesday.
After that 90 days is up, John Burbine, 49, would have to post $1 million bail in order to be released.
Prosecutors say Burbine abused at least 13 children ranging in age from eight days old to three-and-a-half years old.
He also allegedly videotaped the acts.
Police say Burbine gained access to his alleged victims through his wife’s child care business. The business was run out of an office in downtown Wakefield. It was called Waterfall Education Center.
