Grand Jury Declines To Indict Cohasset Man In Brother-In-Law?s Death
WBZ-TV - Breaking News, Weather and Sports for Boston, Worcester and New Hampshire found this 5 months ago on boston.cbslocal.com

QUINCY (AP) ? A grand jury has declined to indict a Cohasset man in connection with his brother-in-law’s death after the two scuffled at a party.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey says John McDonough no longer faces criminal charges.

Police arrested the 45-year-old in May on manslaughter and assault charges following the death of his wife’s brother, David Hoelzer.

Hoelzer died on his 45th birthday after drinking and struggling with McDonough while he was the guest of honor at a party at McDonough’s home.

Morrissey said Monday that grand jurors had more information available to them than authorities had when they arrested McDonough.

The district attorney says after reviewing evidence that he accepts their decision not to indict McDonough.

Calls to McDonough’s house and his attorney’s office weren’t immediately returned.
