WORCESTER (AP) ? A teenage girl has been hospitalized after being struck by a freight train in Worcester.
The Telegram & Gazette reports that the accident happened near the Greendale Mall early Tuesday afternoon.
The tracks are separated from a mall parking lot by a fence. But the paper reports there’s a hole in the fence near where the girl was struck, and the area is used as a shortcut. Police said the girl was with two other people at the time.
Detectives were at the scene Tuesday afternoon and the accident remained under investigation.
