Sources Tell Butchie: You Could Date Heidi Watney.

My Friends at Project Cupid want to give you that chance.

In 2009, nine year old Isaias Valentin lost his 11 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Isaias cousin my friend Amy Blue took up little Isaias’ battle and created Project Cupid. A charity event that works with The Jimmy Fund and The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, This amazing night dedicated to Cancer research and patient care is celebrating its third anniversary on Saturday February 11th at The Estate in Boston. In years past hundreds of you joined Butchie in his break the Bank Challenge for the Jimmy Fund matching his baseball bank donations. He and I are asking you to help again. And Project Cupid is going to make that fun and easy for you.

The highlight of the evening is an auction where Boston’s most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes are giving you the chance to bid and win a Date with them. Notable Boston celebrities like former Red Sox and NESN reporter Heidi Watney and Boston’s own award winning Jen Royal are just two of the wonderful single ladies who will be headlining the Date Auction portion of the evening. I am not sure what Jen has in mind for her winning bidder but Sources tell Butchie Heidi has an awesome date in store for her winning bidder. An evening at Fenway where you get to see your favorite players take batting practice and enjoy the game with Heidi in front row seats !!!

But there’s more, Project Cupid doesn’t want to leave anyone out of the party so there are Hotel Packages Salon Gift Packages even a Private Tour of WEEI. But Wait There’s EVEN more. some of Boston’s biggest sports stars have donated a slew of memorabilia for everyone to bid on including. A signed jersey by none other than Paul Peirce, Pairs of Red Sox Tickets, an autographed Clay Buchholtz baseball, and The Captain Jason Veritek has donated a signed Bat and ball from his LAST game at Fenway.

Remember Saturday Feb 11th Doors are going to open at 6:30 at The Estate; One Boylston Pl. in Boston .You can buy tickets at the door. the suggested donation is JUST 15 dollars. This is going to be one Hot Ticket folks . If you want to avoid the lines and pre order tickets go to www.project-cupid.eventbrite.com  and if you are unable to attend but would like to donate please go to www.project-cupid.org/donate .

Come on out have a great time. Bring your friends; maybe win a dream date with a celebrity. Let’s make Cancer something kids like Isaias never have to suffer with again.

Together we can turn Cancer into something studied in History not Science class.

Nice promotion and always a worthwhile charity. To see anyone suffer with cancer is hard, but with kids I think it is even harder. The amazing part is how many of them faced with such a shortened life span can still smile and take it in stride. I respect any celebrities or sports figures who take the time to make a special moment in their lives to let them realize how special each and every one of them are. Good luck with the event! ...View More
