Two regular season weeks left to go and this weekend sent shockwaves across the college football world. There are now 3 unbeaten teams (not including Ohio State because of probation) remaining and only 2 spots in the BCS National Championship game. Alabama ’s shocker of a loss at the hands of Texas A&M has the BCS all shaken up and for the first time in 6 years we may not see the college football champ from the SEC. Here is how I rank the top 10 and some key games to watch this weekend. I will also predict the BCS bowl games as best I can.
1. Oregon 10-0
2. Kansas State 10-0
3. Notre Dame 10-0
4. Alabama 9-1
5. Georgia 9-1
6. Florida 9-1
7. Florida State 9-1
8. Texas A&M 8-2
9. LSU 8-2
10. Oklahoma 8-2
Here are the games to keep an eye on.
Wake Forest at Notre Dame – Notre Dame should win this one with ease but nothing ever comes easy for the Irish. They don’t want to get caught looking ahead to USC but with recent sloppy performances against sub par competition this one is going to be one to watch. I still expect Notre Dame to win big but keep an eye on the score.
USC at UCLA – The winner of this one will represent the Pac-12 South in the conference championship game and these teams are heated rivals so you can expect the intensity to be at an all time high. The Trojans can still salvage a disappointing season by winning here and against Notre Dame and possibly earn the right to play in the Rose Bowl. UCLA can make a huge statement in LA if they can beat USC and play in their 2nd consecutive Pac-12 Championship game.
Oklahoma at West Virginia – Oklahoma is trying to keep their BCS at large hopes alive and a win will go a long way towards that. This was a game on the schedule early this season that many were linking to a possible Big 12 champ. That won’t happen here but the Sooners still have a lot to play for. West Virginia can end the season with some momentum if they can pick up a win here.
Kansas State at Baylor – Kansas State now has the target on their back as the #1 ranked team in the BCS Standings. This is their last road game before they host Texas to end the season and are two wins away from playing in the BCS Championship for the first time in school history. Baylor can score on anyone so this game should feature lots of offense. Colin Klein is the leader for the Heisman right now but there are plenty of players with momentum that will snatch that lead up if he slips.
Stanford at Oregon – Oregon ends the season with 3 potential ranked teams. Stanford and Oregon State to close out the regular season and if they take care of business in those games they will host USC or UCLA in the Pac-12 Championship game. Stanford is the best defense the Ducks have seen this year so it will be interesting to see if they can slow them down. Everything is there for Oregon to head back to the championship game they just need to take care of business.
BCS Bowl Projections:

Sugar Bowl – Alabama Vs Notre Dame
